Performance Preparation Program
Our intensive, 1- year Musical Theatre course, is a practical, performance-based training course that will prepare our talented students with the necessary technique and skills needed to audition successfully for either further vocational training programmes or to pursue a career in Musical Theatre. Students will also gain a Level- 3 Diploma accredited by RSL.
RSL Diplomas are delivered by some of the best-known institutions in the UK – BRIT School, Stagecoach, ICTheatre, Performers College, The Wilkes Academy, Elstree Screen Arts Academy to name a few! We are very proud to be offering it here in Jersey.
Jodie Lee Performing Arts Academy is based at the stunning country side location, Chateau Vermont. With its 3 purpose built studios, changing and showering facilities surrounded by beautiful outside spaces and with plenty of parking, it is the perfect place to study.
Course Outline
Over the year, students will develop the wide range of advanced skills and knowledge that they will need to purses a path in the industry by participating in daily training classes including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Singing, Acting and Musical Theatre.
Throughout the year, students will be working with our highly experienced tutors, who have a very thorough understanding of what you need to pursue your path in performing arts .
Not only will the students have guidance in building their own repertoire folder of suitable songs and monologues to ensure they are fully prepared for future auditions, they will also be coached in audition and interview techniques and will graduate with their own professional photographs and showreel footage.
The Performers Preparation Program runs Tuesday - Friday’s 8:30- 3:30pm for 33 weeks over 3 terms.
Fees for the school year 2022/23 are £2,400 per school term.
£300 non returnable deposit is to be paid on acceptance of place on the course and will be offset against the first terms fees.
For the School year 2022/23 there will be two half scholarships awarded. These scholarships will be awarded to two talented students who may not ordinarily be able to attend the program
If you wish to be considered, a scholarship application form should be completed prior to your audition.

FAQ’s
Do I need certain grades or exam levels to apply?
Even though this course in largely practical, it is recommended that applicants have sufficient levels of literacy and numeracy at GCSE level.
MOST IMPORTANTLY STUDENTS NEED

A previous background in Performing Arts.

An ability to undertake intensive study and carry out the assignments set. Assignments may include short essays, presentations, research and sourcing materials such as songs and monologues.

Good Time management. This is essential as this course requires high levels of self-motivation and organisation.
Can I still attend my local Dance/ Drama/ Performing Arts school?
In short YES!
Performers Preparation Program runs Tuesday- Friday 8:30- 3:30pm. Students are required to fully commit to these times and will not be permitted to leave early to attend other classes, however, students may attend as many other classes they wish after course hours and at weekends as long as they can keep up with their assessments and assignments.
